However, will I was goofing around at Home Depot last night I saw something that shows promise. Monster Cable has a cable that connects to the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod and then has composite plugs (red, white and yellow) on the other end that can be plugged directly into the front of my TV. On the positive side... if it works, easy solution. I simply plug my pod in and I'm golden. On the down side... the cable is $50. A little expensive if you ask me. There are other options. I see that Apple also sells this type of setup, but it costs $50 and includes a charger. Now, I don't need the charger, but a nice touch. Their offering is also $50, but would seem to be a better value. I also read about a guy pulling everything out of the headphone jack. Now, I tried this and didn't have any luck getting a picture, but this solution would cost less than $10 if it worked. I'm still going to give this another shot. complete article from O'Reilly Dev Center Stay tuned... I'll let you know how this turns out. ** UPDATE ** Well, I had to shell out the $50 for the Apple branded adapter, but in the end... it was worth it. As it turns out the simple solution only worked on the older iPods. I have a 5th generation iPod and that means thing wouldn't work out. I brought it home and it works great. I coudn't be happier and the quality of the video from a movie I converted is great. Dane is a happy camper. |
